I am participating in 23 things because I was asked
to. I have completed 23 Things already a few years back. I am excited to see
what has changed since then.
I hope to learn some of the very new and current Web 2.0 concepts that are out there. I know that as an educator I am competing with IPods, T.V. and other media sources to catch my student’s interest. I hope that through this course I will learn new and interesting ways to do so.

I loved the web2.0 concept. I hadn't thought about it that way before. I also found it a bit nerve racking that anyone anywhere can read my writing once I post it. It is definitely an empowering thought as well as a scary one. I now realize that not all of the information out there is accurate. As an educator I must be cognizant of that fact and be mindful when using the Internet or having my students use it.
Until the next thing......
Welcome Back! As you go through the 23 Things again, you will find new ways to use what you have already learned. I know it was refreshing to see these tools in a different light, now that I had been exposed to them. Hopefully the same thing will happen to you as well.
ReplyDeleteI found that if you embrace what the kids already have and know, you won't fight it. When appropriate, I allow my students to use whatever technology they have to accomplish what they need to accomplish. It's changed their attitude with regard to the rules of the school. They don't fight it as much knowing that they are allowed to use it in my room. As the paradigm shift continues, I think we will be doing this more and more across the curriculum.
Good luck on you re-visit to the 23 Things!
